“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” ~ Philippians 4:6-7

The news of pregnancy can bring out a whole myriad of emotions within mothers. There may be pure excitement, some uncertainty, fear, nervousness, stress, joy, or anticipation. Regardless of where you are at today, there is no doubt that anxiety can creep in so easily during the vulnerable season that you find yourself in during pregnancy, as well as in labor and the postpartum period. What will birth be like? Am I ready to be a mother? How am I going to do this? What if something is wrong with the baby? Am I strong enough? These questions are normal and you are not alone. How often though do we let ourselves soak in this anxiety and allow it to build and take over rather than bring it before our loving Father in Heaven? We have a gracious God who loves us and desires for us to draw near to Him. Talk to Him. Tell Him what is on your heart. Ask Him for His peace to take hold of your soul. Humble yourself before the Lord and allow Him to take over, trusting in Him and His ability to care for you. The peace of the Lord is beautiful beyond measure and it is there for you to experience! In a time that you are vulnerable and surrounded by so much pressure, let the Lord guard your heart and your mind so that you remain safe and grounded in His steadfast love.

"Trust him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us" ~ Psalm 62:8
